Further Education for Yoga Teachers: 20 hour courses with Maria Kirsten

Yoga for Older Grownups Training
My mission in life is to get the world to embrace yoga as an essential means to proactively self manage physical, mental and spiritual health. It is important, when teaching seniors and older grownups, to offer them choices and modifications, and to build their capacity to make informed choices. The Yoga for Older Grownups Teacher Training goes beyond teaching set sequences and modifications by empowering yoga teachers to synthesise knowledge of the aging process, common health conditions and injuries, and health promotion best practice to confidently and safely support older individuals in their classes. Yoga for Mental Health Training
The intention of this course is to help yoga teachers practice and teach yoga in a way that supports their own and their students' mental health. We re-orient the focus from performing poses and practices to using them as opportunities to sense internally, to explore curiously, and to respond compassionately to challenges and opportunities as they arise. The course is not a certification in teaching yoga for any particular diagnosis. It is about understanding mental health from a yogic framework and from the framework of recovery; it is about understanding how yoga works on a scientific and experiential level, and it is about knowing how to create a safe, ethically responsible, trauma informed environment in which to offer yoga.  Click here for info
